Education Crisis: What Can We Do?

More than 1.2 million students are not college diploma last year (2007) according to a report published recently by drafting in education. We have an educational crisis in the USA. Why are not millions of parents and indignant in a day? Why are not our guide, including the president and Congress, that this issue a high priority?

Many of our schools are not reasonable educate our children at a time when a good education has never been greater importance. What are the career prospects and quality of life for students, once is not complete High School? How employers the USA to remain in global competition, if this trend continues? These are questions that must be addressed.

Provide opportunities for problems solutions

In every crisis, there are opportunities, a positive difference. Every problem has a solution. What is a solution to the education crisis? There are many schools and teachers do a good job, the training of our students. We must examine the schools, courses and teachers, delivering results and successful models, what works.

For example, eighty percent of economically disadvantaged students, graduates of KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) Charter schools College. These children of the poorest areas, on the average are two types behind when they start to tilt, outscoring excellent students in public schools on national standardized tests.

Many community colleges offer courses in study skills and learning effectiveness. These courses students, as we learn to better identify their skills and learning objectives and to manage their time. These courses are often available to High School students as part of the first programs of the college.

I came of retirement a year ago to teach success and study courses is part-time strategy for a Community College. I am one of the course teaches is-at-Risk students, type College with two or more defects. Students, graduates a significantly higher prices than those who are not registered.

Why schools changeover and many colleges strategy of success? The answer is motivated students work hard, committed and courses for teachers, students identify, skills, talents, goals and how they learn best. The students are motivated to learn, if they focus on realistic goals and you will see the relevance of their training to these goals.

A system of education should be to the best of our students to develop their physical potential and help the gifts and positive contributions to society. We must develop systems of education, what model schools, courses and teachers have proven records of helping students to be successful. It is a solution to the crisis in education and an opportunity to offer our youth the education they deserve.
